The DECK DEFENDER lives INSIDE your card box and keeps your cards flatter than any card clip I’ve ever tried.
The science behind it is simple…
This custom made, solid carbon fibre “card” is designed to take up all of the extra space within your box.
By doing this AND the fact there is zero flex to it, means that your entire deck stays 100% flat and this also means that there in NO space left for the cards to warp or develop the dreaded “click”!
This device has been manufactured to precise dimensions and will work in any Night Flight Deck (Elite) or Bicycle brand playing cards. (as long as not over 310gsm)
It really does work better than a traditional card clip because the pressure applied by the Deck Defender is evenly spread over the entire surface…
…A traditional clip is always tighter on one side of the deck and unless was custom built for the specific deck, its never going to achieve an even spread across the surface.

Q – This seems quite expensive, a card clip would be cheaper, how are you justifying the cost?
A – Carbon Fibre is a space age material which isn’t cheap to manufacture. This is GENUINE Carbon Fibre and is completely custom manufactured for me by an amazing company that makes automative parts for high end vehicles. I’ve had to have Carbon Fibre Sheets made in an exact “thickness” and then have them laser cut to the size of a playing card. It’s been an expensive process. This is NOT a re-branded “off the shelf” product… It is truly unique.

Q – Is this Genuine Carbon Fibre? Or is it just made to look like it?
A – The Deck Defender is 100% Genuine Carbon Fibre. No Stickers or moulded plastic to give the effect, this IS the real deal.

Q – Couldn’t I just pack more playing cards into the case and achieve the same effect?
A – Nope, and believe me I have tried this.
The “science” behind it is all about using something with No/Zero Flex!
The Deck Defender can’t be bent… seriously it can’t!!! It’s perfectly flat and always will be.
It has been built to exacting dimensions and is made for the sole purpose of keeping your deck in the best condition possible.

Q – Why didn’t you choose a cheaper material, steel for example?
A – I looked into making this with a few materials…
Wood – Would swell or shrink depending on the time of year and humidity of the environment. Also had slight flex to it.
Steel – Wonderful material and did work, however it added considerable weight to the deck! Whilst the material was cheaper, the manufacturing costs were higher. Mainly though, the weight. It made the deck uncomfortable to carry around.
Aluminium – Way lighter than steel and it almost ‘made the cut’ however, it could bend… I was able to bend the sheet with just my hands. This for me wasn’t perfect enough.
CARBON FIBRE – Light Weight… so light in fact that its weight is inconceivable within the deck. You really can’t tell that it’s there!
Built to last… This WILL last forever, Zero Corrosion, Perfect Corners, No Sharp Edges… AND NO FLEX!!! 100% flat and always will be.

Q – Why did you put a logo on it?
A – For a couple of reasons…
Your audience should never see it… however…
I wanted you to know you were getting an official ‘Dela Shop / Night Flight’ product and not a copy (which I totally see happening eventually) 🙁
The logo can be removed if you really want to… it will take some scrubbing, but it is possible.
Im considering making vinyl stickers to attach to the Deck Defender… So far I’m thinking playing cards so that it can become a prediction. I guess if the logo really bothers you, you could cover it with a sticker.

Q – You say Carbon Fibre is light weight, what does the Deck Defender weigh?
A – 13.5 grams… Mega Light! – To put this in perspective… that’s the weight of (approx) 8 playing cards.

Q – Will this work with other decks? Or is it just for the Night Flight Deck?
A – This was originally built to work with Night Flight Elite Decks (53 cards). However is works just as well with Bicycle brand playing cards up to 310gsm (52 cards).
It will without a doubt work with many other decks! For the main two Night Flight & Bicycle, we have you covered!
